Louise Nayer, President
A Message from the President

I am honored and privileged to be serving as the new ASID Palm Spring/Inland Chapter President. Our board of Directors is made up of group of supportive leaders who are strong, talented, creative, passionate and forward thinking professionals. We are all very excited to share this wonderful new year of fun with our members. I personally have been involved with ASID for over 20 years and now that I have the honor to lead our members my goal this year is to bring knowledge to the public of understanding the benefits of hiring an ASID designer and how important it is to build relationships in our community.

Our Membership Kickoff Event in October at Lulu's in Palm Spring was a tremendous success. We hosted 100 members and guest at the event. We launched our new "Share the Love Champaign" and presented our very first "ASID Student Scholarship Award" check that was present during the evening in the amount of $1,000.00 to Xavier College Prep High School's new Fine Arts Department. This was an exciting and truly proud moment for our Chapter to give back to the community and to help future design students by encouraging them with this Scholarship Award.

I am looking forward to the events of the upcoming year. Our Industry Partners will be hosting Chapter Mixers once a month so the designer's can experience and learn about the services and products that our IP's members offer.

We will also have our "Design Project Award Competition" which has proved to be an amazing and success event in the past. This year we are going to have the Dinner at Wally's Desert Turtle, in Rancho Mirage. Please tell your family, friends and clients to attend for this exciting evening. We will be announcing and awarding the winners that evening in the variety of categories, so please joins us by signing up to enter the awards contest or come to enjoy a wonderful fun filled evening. We will have a silent auction that evening, if you know anyone who would like to help out with the event the board would greatly appreciate the members support.

For the past several years we have been staunchly involved in Fashion Week El Paseo with the "Project Runway Event" Interior Designer's created couture fashion for the runway by using interior design materials to create Couture fashion. We had so much fun with this event however, this coming year we will not be designing dresses, we will be designing dog houses which the ASID Palm Springs/Inland Valley chapter present "Chateau Le Chien," at a private residence in Mirada Estates, Rancho Mirage, CA. This barking cocktail and hors d'oeuvres fill evening will feature the creativity of the ASID designers as they display wonderful, fanciful, creative "chateaus" for your favorite canine. During the evening, the chateaus will be judged by a group of celebrity judges and awarded ribbons of excellence during the evening a silent auction for the chateaus will begin and then will be placed the next morning at Fashion Week's "Le Chien" and available for sale at the silent auction with the proceeds benefiting the Humane Society of the Desert and the ASID Scholarship Fund, Benefiting Humane Society of the Desert and the ASID Palm Springs/Inland Valley Scholarship Fund. This is a party and event you will not want to miss!

Thanks to all of the PSP/Inland members for believing in me to lead our Chapter to a fun and successful year.
